Breakfast & After School Clubs

St James Early Birds and After School Clubs

(EBASC)

St James' C of E Infant and Nursery School runs very successful Breakfast and After School clubs. All pupils including Nursery can make use of the clubs.

The Breakfast Club runs from 7.40am to 8.45am each school morning.  The charge is £4.00 per session and children can be dropped off any time after 7.40am.

The After School Club runs from 3.15pm to 5.15pm.  The charge is £5.50 for up to two hours and children can be picked up at any time before 5.15pm.

You can book your child onto either club using the School Money App. We ask that you do this by midnight the day before you wish your child to attend as places are limited. For last minute bookings you can ring the school office.

The Breakfast club is run from the Hall and the After School Club is run from the Blencathra classroom.  There are many varied activities available to the children in both clubs.  Games and toys are widely used but children can also do drawing, reading etc. if they want to.  The clubs also have resources for outdoor play in fine weather and many structured activities are organised for the children if they want to participate.  We also understand if some children prefer some quiet time, particularly in the After School Club and space is provided for this too.

For children arriving in the Breakfast Club before 8.30am, breakfast such as cereal, toast, pancakes etc. and a drink are provided. For children staying beyond 4pm, a snack is provided in the After School Club.

Most parents use the clubs to fit around their work patterns, but some parents also find that the clubs are useful for “one-off” sessions too for things such as shopping trips or appointments.  All children are very welcome and we often find that children who have no need to use the clubs still like to be involved now and again.

Children should be brought to, and collected from, the side porch exit on the top playground for the Breakfast Club.  The After School Club collection point is round the back of the Early Years block (turn right along the front of school and follow the path around to the back). The main entrance to the school is kept locked when the clubs are in use.

Our Breakfast Club is ran by Miss Joanne Bragg and Miss Eloise Cocksedge.

Our After School Club is ran by Miss Katherine Brown with Miss Olivia Cullnean and Miss Marisa Williams.

Each half term we schedule a range of exciting activities that children tell us they would like to take part in. Children get to choose each day from an array of different activities.

Lots of fun activities at our Breakfast and After School Clubs
